1. Begin with flexibility exercises in order to stretch your muscles first. Stand in the corner of the swimming pool (in water) holding to the edge for support and balance. Slowly lift one of your legs behind the body. The feet should point skywards while the knees are bent down. The other foot should be firmly on the swimming pool floor.

Hold the lifted leg with the opposite hand (right foot with left hand and so on). Be in this position for 30 seconds and repeat with the other leg.

2. Do some cardio exercises in water. This will help in getting your blood pumped up. It is easier to get the heartbeat rate up while exercising in water. You can try jogging, brisk walking and other cardio exercises in water to get an elevated heart rate quite quickly when compared to doing the same exercises outside water.

Stand in water which should be shoulder high. Put one foot forward than the other. The distance between the front and back feet should be about the width of your shoulders. Punch with the arm opposite to your front foot. It means if your left foot is in front, then punch with the right arm.

Repeat this several times. Then do it with the other foot forward and punch with the opposite arm. Remember that the while doing this exercise you should stand in water which is reaching up to your shoulders and not just till your waist.

This is because it takes more strain and energy to punch when the arms are immersed in water. So it is good for calorie burning and weight loss.
